LeRoy Fisher

LeRoy W. Fisher "Elroy" was born March 2, 1947 in Birmingham, England, and died on Feb. 12, 2008.  He was the son of Arthur John and Faith Dunn Fisher. In his younger years, he was a professional musician who toured extensively with several bands. He loved motorcycles and received many trophies for racing motocross. He loved music, camping and riding four-wheelers. His greatest joy in life came from being with family and friends and singing around the campfire.  Elroy was always willing to give of himself, even at his own expense. He was a very kind, selfless individual. He proudly served his country in the US Army Medical Unit where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Survived by daughters: Carrie, Jenny and Reyna; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters: John (Aloni) Fisher, Norman (Daralyn) Fisher, Ruth Christensen, Sue Davis and Lura (David) Hutchison. Preceded in death by parents; sisters: Trish Valcare and Jeannie Downey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 12:00 noon at Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel, 17111 S. Redwood Road where a visitation will be held Friday, 10:30-12:00 noon. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home. Craig Singley

Air Force Reserves Veteran Major William Craig Singley passed away October 25, 2007 at age 60 from heart failure.

He was born September 1, 1947 to Bryce and EmmaJean (Page) Singley in Salt Lake City, UT.

He is survived by his three children Jennifer Johnston (Steve), James Singley (Esther), Melissa Singley, and his two stepchildren Dominic and Adrian Thayn. His four grandchildren Victoria, Kathryn, Isabelle, and Riley. His mother and father and five siblings, Ronald (Gail), Claudia (Dave) Youngreen, Brent (Lisa), David (Joelyn) and Charlotte (Todd) Tuttle.

His unconditional love and sense of humor will be greatly missed. We love you, Dad.

Evelyn Anderson Koons Koskella passed away on February 12, 2007 in Farmington, Utah. Born January 4, 1947 to Elliot and Gladys Anderson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Married Larry Koons April 19, 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had six children. Later divorced. Married Kirk Koskella Dec. 8, 2006.

She served well in the LDS church in many callings. She was exuberant and full of life. She loved music. She sang with the Oratorio Society of Utah. She'd fill the house with religious music Sunday mornings by playing piano and would often sing in choirs with her sisters. When she and her siblings would get together they'd often tell stories and laugh until they cried. She loved the outdoors, going camping, hiking with kids and grandkids.

Survived by husband Kirk Koskella, children: Andy (Karen) Koons, Dana (Kyle) Johansen, Barry (Ann) Koons, Ryan Koons, Noel Koons, Dayton Koons who is serving in the Santa Rosa California mission, 11 grandchildren, mother Gladys Anderson, sisters: Karla Anderson, Beverly (Richard) Barlow, Valane (Reed) Wheeler, brother Steve (Robyn) Anderson. Preceded in death by father, niece and nephew.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16 at 1:00 p.m. at the Farmington Rock Chapel, 272 North Main, Farmington. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Farmington Rock Chapel and Friday morning from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Kay Cook

Anna Karine Cook Griffee affectionately known as Kay passed away Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at SDCH Bountiful.

Kay was born June 3, 1947, Idaho Falls, Idaho, to David William and Gracia Stewart Cook. Kay grew up in the Bountiful First Ward, graduating from Bountiful High and the University of Utah with a degree in early childhood education. She worked in the child development lab and was director of the Salt Lake City Jewish Center. She also worked in the Seattle, Wash., area in early childhood education. Kay was active in the LDS Church her whole life, serving as primary chorister and teacher.

She loved raising her four wonderful sons continuing to love them most even when confined with MS. Her pleasant nature, humor, and wisdom were a blessing to all who knew her. Kay was beloved by family, friends and hospital staff.

She is survived by her sons Patrick (Heidi), Matthew (Ingrid), Sean (Gretchen), and Ryan Griffee and grandchildren, Hanna Kay, Hazel, Rachel, Elizabeth, Colin and Cathryn. Mother, Gracia Cook, brother David S. Cook, sisters Carol Coombs, Mari Ivie, and Julia Jennings.

Chuck Doulgerakis

Anchorage businessman Charles Gus Doul-gerakis, 59, died Nov. 29, 2006, at home of complications from a long illness. Friends and family are invited to share memories from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Coast International Inn, 3415 Aviation Ave.

Born Feb. 8, 1947, in Price, Utah, to Alice Pressas and Gus Dean Doulgerakis, he graduated from Bountiful High School in 1965 and joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Anchorage, and lived the rest of his life here. He married his high school sweetheart, Karon Clayton, on Dec. 4, 1966, in Anchorage. She preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 2004.

His family wrote: "He founded many local businesses including Magic and Advertising, All Night TV, Video to Go, Beta Only, Comic Book Cosmos, Alaska All Star Wrestling -- he was the first to bring professional wrestlers to Alaska at the Sullivan Arena. He also helped design Iditarod buttons. Chuck was also the owner of Lots'a Neat Stuff, which brought a smile to whoever walked through the doors. "Chuck was a business owner, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to all -- his laughter and sense of humor will be greatly missed. He was a man who played many roles, not only in business, but in the lives he touched." His family added that he was much loved.

Chad Lindsey

Chadwick Ben Lindsey, 59, passed away November 28, 2006, in Arvada, Colorado. He was born May 10, 1947, in Bountiful, Utah, a son of Clarence Eugene and Marie Johnson Lindsey. Chad is survived by six children: Brooke Holmes Sellers, Golden, CO; Stephen Troy Lindsey, Arvada, CO; Matthew Ben Lindsey, Rochester, NY; Martin Lee Lindsey, Arvada, CO; Jason Prows Lindsey, Phoenix, AZ; Joshua Chad Lindsey, Arvada, CO; 13 grandchildren; brothers and sister, Bill, Mike, Steve, Reno and Shane Lindsey; and Linda Lu Porter.

Dad will be remembered for his love of family, big trucks and his crooked smile.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 1st, from 5:00-7:00pm, at Horan & McConnaty, 9998 Grant Street, in Thornton. Marc Flack

Dr. Marc Douglas Flack, "The Chief", age 58, died unexpectedly due to an enlarged heart on May 31, 2005 in Holladay, Utah. He was born to A. LeGrand and Dora Dutson Flack in Provo, Utah. He served in the New Zealand South Mission for the LDS Church. He graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry. He specialized in Holistic Dentistry and was a Fellow in the AGD and the IAOMT. He had a great love and concern for his patients' health and well-being and was a dedicated healer.

He married J. Annette Bean in the Salt Lake Temple on February 7, 1975 and they generously shared their energetic and warm home with many for 30 years. He loved his family, fishing and soccer. He is survived by his much loved children: J.L., Brandon (Kristin), McGarren (Lisa), Taylor (Brenda), Nancy Nicole (Jake), Courtney (Lietza) Lentz, Damien Lentz, Garred (Brooke) Lentz and grandchildren: Isaac, Addison, Kamri, Ammon, Kajsa, Analia, and Ellie. "Chocolate was his favorite food, And soccer was his life. Next to all his loving kids, And his adoring wife!"

Suzanne Tucker

KAYSVILLE Suzanne Tucker Griffiths, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Suzanne Tucker Griffiths, age 58, passed away May 19, 2005 in Kaysville, Utah after a brave and determined battle with colon cancer. She was born May 7, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah the third child of Cleon D. and Betty Jensen Tucker. She lived in many different parts of Utah including Bountiful, Hyrum, and Kaysville. She graduated from Skyview High School in the first graduating class. She married Brent H. Griffiths May 20, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Suzanne loved serving others and being with her family. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and traveling with her husband and family. Some of her favorite places included Hawaii and the family cabin in Wyoming. She made the best hand dipped chocolates with her mother and she made any family party an event. She was a wonderful, caring wife and mother and a super grandmother. She was always concerned about her family and she loved them all very much. As a faithful, lifelong member of the LDS Church she served in various callings including Relief Society president, Young Women's president and Primary president. She also served for many years as a docent at the Church Museum of History and Art where she was able to share her love of art and the gospel with others.

Suzanne is survived by her husband, Brent; four children, Julie (Alan) Clark, Alan (Heidi) Griffiths, Brian (Renee) Griffiths, Carrie Griffiths; and her 10 grandchildren, Jordan, McKenna, Tyson, Zachary, Alexa, Ry-an, Tyler, Justin, Brianne, and Allison. She is also survived by her parents, in-laws, four brothers, and one sister. She was preceded in death by her brother, and grandparents.

Linda Walsh

LAYTON - Linda Walsh, 57, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005 at her home, after a short battle with cancer. She was born July 25, 1947 in Provo, Utah to Reed Harmer Walsh and Hattie Ruth Huber. Linda was a graduate of Bountiful High School and Weber State College where she majored in Elementary Education.

She taught school in Davis County for 33 years where she developed countless friends with her loved and respected associates. While teaching, she touched the lives of many young people. Her patience and love will long be remembered by literally hundreds of children.

For many years Linda was a compassionate caregiver for her aging parents. She was a dedicated member of her faith and gave countless hours of service.

Linda grew up without sisters and always yearned for the experience of having one. She felt fortunate to belong to the Relief Society organization, for therein she found not one, but many sisters to fill that void. She felt their love and loved them in return.

Linda is survived by three brothers, Reed (Katy) Walsh, Mentor, Ohio; David (Jane) Walsh, Fruit Heights, Utah; and James (LaRee) Walsh, Peoria, Arizona. She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews whom she adored and fussed over.

Linda will always be remembered for her caring and compassionate service and her generous nature. Even while suffering with her own struggles she continued to lift and comfort others

Ted Bradshaw

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Ted W. Bradshaw, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2005, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was born on November 25, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Arnold W. Bradshaw and Delpha Pratt. Ted was married to Marcy Welling in the Salt Lake Temple on December 15, 1967.

He graduated from Bountiful High School in 1965, and from the University of Utah in 1969. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971. He then completed an MBA degree at the U of U and later started his own business as an accountant and medical management consultant.

He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many callings including Priest Quorum advisor, bishopric member, and member of the stake high council. He cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, family and especially his golfing buddies. He showed through his service and example that he truly was a disciple of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by Marcy, his wife of 37 years, and their three children: Bryce Maree (Jonathan) Krogue, of Woods Cross; Brett W. Bradshaw, of Tucson, Arizona, and Benjamin W. Bradshaw, currently serving a mission in Montevideo, Uruguay; as well as two precious grandsons, C. Chase Bradshaw and Cameron Krogue. He is also survived by his father, Arnold W. (Mel) Bradshaw, his brother, Bruce Frank (Sandy) Bradshaw, sister-in-law, Judy (Robert) Hart, brother-in-law, Gregory (Richelle) Welling, and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifetime friends.

Ted will always be remembered for his enthusiasm, cheerful attitude, his organizational skills, his limitless generosity, and his devotion to family, friends, and the gospel. He was a great example for his hard work ethic, yet he had a great ability to have fun and enjoy the good times. He was happiest when spending time with his family or on the golf course with his "Thursday buddies." He was a gifted financial advisor, and his vast knowledge on taxes, investments and management will be missed.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and again from 9:30 to 10:45 at the Bountiful 45th Ward Bldg, 115 East Wicker Lane (2000 So. Orchard Drive). The funeral will immediately follow. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend gratitude to the staff of Utah Cancer Specialists, and to the staff of Lakeview Hospital and the VistaCare Hospice program for their loving care during his illness, and to all the beloved family and friends who have supported us through the last year.

Karen Clayton

Anchorage resident Eileen Karon Clayton Doulgerakis, 57, died Dec. 3, 2004, at home from breast and brain cancer. A celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Best Western Golden Lion Hotel, 1000 E. 36th Ave. Mrs. Doulgerakis was born Aug. 15, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Gwendolyn Clayton and the late Marven Clayton. She moved to Anchorage with her husband, Charles "Chuck," in 1967. Mrs. Doulgerakis was formerly employed by the Best Western Golden Lion Hotel.

Her family wrote: "Karon touched the hearts of all that knew her and had a strong positive influence on all of them. She was very loving, supporting, caring, giving, creative, humorous and strong. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren, teaching them to appreciate simple things in life. One of her favorite guiding statements was, 'What would your mother think?' She often listened to Dr. Laura on the radio and requested her family and friends to listen too. She was a source of pride to her family and will be missed very much." Her family also wrote that she was a "beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend."

Mrs. Doulgerakis is survived by her husband, Charles Doulgerakis; daughters, Deana Doulgerakis and Journie Da Silva; son-in-law, Sandor Da Silva; son, Brant "Gus" Doulgerakis; granddaughter, Makaila Da Silva, and grandsons, Zoltan Da Silva and Kadin Da Silva, all of Anchorage; daughter, Victoria Doulgerakis and fiance Mark Hedgecock of Lynnwood, Wash.; mother, Gwendolyn Clayton, and sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Larry Christensen, all Sun City West, Ariz.; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Judy Clayton of N. Betty Matthews

On November 24, 2004, Betty Ann Launer, 57, was carried from the darkness of her cancer into the bright light and loving arms of Jesus. She is also celebrating her reunion with the love of her earthly life, Gary, sharing in the worship and praising of Jesus.

Born January 7, 1947 in Salt Lake City, UT to Elmo and Lorene Matthews. She married her high school sweetheart, Gary Launer on February 17, 1965. Her happiness and joy was taking care of and being surrounded by her family. She had many friends throughout the years that meant a great deal to her.

Betty attended Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake City where she grew strong in the Lord; her faith was as solid as her salvation. She worked for DOPL the last eight years where she enjoyed her job as well as her co-workers.

Survived by daughters, Dana (Mark) Knold, Jennifer Launer, and Jill (Jeff) Howe; mother, Lorene Matthews; sisters, Carolyn Simonsen, Jeannie Schreck, and Sandy Petersen; brother, Ronald Matthews; grandchildren, Dustin (Jennifer) Turner, and Michael Turner; great granddaughter, June Turner; granddogs, Cody and Mille. Preceded in death by daughter, Anissa Kaye; father, Elmo Matthews, husband and love of her life, Gary; dog, Ziggy; granddog, Pug.

Funeral services will be held Nov. 29, at 11:00 am at Calvary Chapel, 460 W. Century Dr. (4350 S.), Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.

David Hughes

David Ted Hughes, 56, was found passed away of natural causes June 10, 2004 at his residence in LaVerkin.

Born June 14, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The son of the late Charles Herman Hughes and Velma Jeppson Hughes. He was a graduate of Bountiful High School and attended Weber State University. In his youth, he excelled in sports including the pole vault and basketball. He extremely had a passion and a love for golf. If you ever wanted to find Dave, you could find him at a golf course. David was an extremely gifted machinist. He was well known as a real perfectionist in his field of employment.

David was a National Guard Veteran during the Vietnam War Era. He married Elizabeth Roland, later divorced. Married Kathleen Nuttar, later divorced. Survived by children: Adam David Hughes, Grant Hughes, Michelle Hughes, Stephan Hughes, Lindsey Hughes; sister, Carolynne (Dee) Bodrero; Brothers, Glenn E. Hughes, Dwayne (Colleen) Hughes, Ken E. Hughes.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2004, 1:00 p.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery (2220 S. 200 W.) No viewing will be held. All friends and relatives are invited to attend the graveside services.  Published in the Deseret News.

Lee Gines

        

Lee Ray Gines, age 56, passed away April 25, 2004 in Kearns, Utah. Lee was born August 15, 1947 in Bountiful, Utah to Ray C. Gines and Elaine Argyle. He married Connie Rae Bird on March 12, 1983 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on December 14, 1996. He loved to go to our "Wanna-Be-A-Ranch" property in Blackfoot, Idaho. He loved his family and anyone he met.

He would like for anyone who wants to send flowers, to please donate to the Humane Society. Lee is survived by his loving wife, Connie; daughters, LeAnn Popp, RaeLynn Lawson, Raylene Dean and Megan Willard; sons, Jeff Long, Kent Gines and Sean Gines; parents, Ray C. and Elaine Gines; sister, Joann McNeal; brothers, Bert Gines, Keith Gines and Paul Gines; 16 grandchildren and one on the way.

Stan Norton

OGDEN - Joseph Stanley Norton, 56, of Ogden passed away in Salt Lake City, on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004. Stanley was born May 16, 1947 in Cedar City, UT to Leo and Charlene (Heaps) Norton. On May 16, 1987 he married Vicki Fisk. Their marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on Nov. 9, 1988. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Stanley was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Stanley is survived by his loving wife; two sons, Kevin and Kyle Norton of Ogden; step-son, Michael Ransdell of Huston, TX; daughters, Christie (Mitchell) Phillips of Ogden; Kimberly Norton of New Hampshire; Amanda Norton also of New Hampshire and Hailee Cheyann Norton of Ogden; step-daughter, Tammy Ransdell of Clinton, UT; his mother, two brothers, Rick Norton and Paul (Debbie) Norton both of Salt Lake City; a sister Shonya (Delray) Nelson of Hurricane, UT and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.

Teresa Humphrey

        

Teresa Humphrey, 55, went to meet her Heavenly Father Friday, March 7, 2003, at her home in Bountiful, Utah.

Teresa was born June 9, 1947 in Salt Lake City, to J. Stanley and Irma Hyde Humphrey. She was an active member of the LDS Church, and served in many callings for the Bountiful 1st and 6th Wards. She also served as a temple worker in the Bountiful Temple. Teresa had a strong testimony and loved teaching the gospel to the children of her ward. She was a dear friend, and inspired all who knew her.

Teresa worked for the Utah Labor Commission for almost 20 years. For the past two years, during her fight with cancer, she has made many new and loving friends.

She is survived by two sisters: Sherrie and JaNae; two brothers: Ben and Earl; and dozens of nieces and nephews. She has joined her mother and father, Irma Hyde and J. Stanley Humphrey, as well as her younger brother Chuck, who paved the way for all of them. Teresa was deeply loved, and she will be missed immeasurably.

George Edward Gerth was born Nov. 16, 1947 in New York City, NY.

George graduated from Bountiful High School in 1965 where he earned a Sterling Scholar award for Industrial Arts.

He married Kathryn Alicia Grako on Oct. 30, 1971 in Salt Lake City, UT.

He passed away on February 10, 2003 in Portland, OR at the age of 55 and is buried in the Colton Lutheran Cemetery in Colton, OR.

Joleen Harwood

Joleen Mae Harwood Bell, age 55, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2002 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah of breast cancer.

Born February 27, 1947 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Joe and Mae Rich Harwood. Married to Dewey Bell on February 14, 1977.

Survived by her husband of 25 years, Dewey; son Sean of Sunnyvale, California and daughter Jody attending University of Oregon in Eugene.

Graduated from Bountiful High School and the University of Utah; received her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Utah State University.

Joleen was a kindergarten teacher for the Salt Lake City School District and all of her current and past kindergartners are welcome to join a visitation for family and friends on Saturday, April 6, 2002, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E 1300 South.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donation to one of Joleen’s favorite organizations, The Nature Conservancy; or her hospice caregiver, Vista Care Foundation, 680 E Main St., Suite 202, Lehi, UT 84043.

Coleen Hansen

Coleen Hansen Baird, a longtime resident of Belmont, died of cancer Wednesday, Jan 2, 2002. Born Dec 17, 1946 in Richfield, UT to Fay Leon and Mary Jennie Hendrickson Hansen. Married Lloyd S. Baird, March 25, 1969, in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A graduate of the Utah State University (1969) and Michigan State University (1976) in Child Development. A gifted artist and writer, she published a children's book and had published articles in the Ensign Magazine. She served more than thirty years in various leadership positions for her church including seven years as voluntary instructor of advanced religious studies courses for students in the Wellesley College and Boston University, and as the head of the women's organization for the greater Boston area. Recently, she served on the public affairs committee for the Boston Temple. She also served as a trusted advisor to her husband who serves as leader of the LDS community in the greater Boston area.

Her greatest pride was her nine children who have achieved academic honors and followed her in a life of Christian service -- all of her children who have graduated from high school have also taken time from college programs to serve church missions.  Survived by her husband, Lloyd S. Baird; nine children (four married); five grandchildren. Children: Jennifer Baird West (Mark), Bret Jonathan Baird (Tricia Wudel), Anthony Walter Baird (Heidi Ward), Peter Joshua Baird, Christopher Stanford Baird (Ellen Shumway), Matthew David Baird, Samuel Paul Baird, Justin Bruce Baird, and Nathanael Lloyd Baird. Also survived by three brothers and three sisters: Darl Hansen (Louise), Gary Hansen (Patty), Mary Beth Dayley (Edward), Janet Davis (Glen), Will Hansen (Lois), Ann Chapman (Jim); stepmother, Donna Mae Hansen; and eight stepbrothers and sisters: Cheryl Easton-Okubo, Vickie Fryday (Brian), David Easton, Terri Allen (Elvin), Steven Easton (Karen), Drew Easton (Heike), Diana Osborne (Bill), Dale Easton (Cristi); many nieces and nephews who loved and admired her.

A memorial service was held Fri. Jan 4, 2002, 7:30 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meeting house, 4 Ledgewood Place, Belmont, MA. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wed. Peggy Lugenbeel

      

Peggy Jo Lugenbeel, 54, of Vernal, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 31, 2001 in Salt Lake City after a severe illness.

She was born Nov. 6, 1946 in Rifle, Colo., to Basil Lugenbeel and Betty Kay Purkey. Peggy had a gypsy spirit acquired at an early age due to the many moves her parents made. She eventually landed in Bountiful where she graduated from Bountiful High School in 1965.

Her desire to help others led her into the medical field where she became an X-ray technician and eventually a radiation therapist. She worked at the University of Utah Hospital 18 years. Her gypsy spirit took over again and she bacame a locum and travelled the country as a radiation therapist in such "exotic" locations as Santa Fe, N.M., Durango, Colo., Secaucus, N.J., and Sweethome, Ore.

Peggy Jo enjoyed cooking, crocheting, travel and most of all loved spending time with family and friends. We will miss her dearly but she is everyone's angel now.

Peggy is survived by her mother, Betty (Bill) Mitchell, Altonah; father, Basil Lugenbeel, Duchesne; siblings, John (Marse) Lugenbeel, West Jordan; LaVeta (Larry) Pennock, Rock Springs; Lee (Susan) Mitchell, Springville; Tom Mitchell, Moab; Sandy Mitchell, St. George; Sherry (Ray) Hutchings, Sandy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Perry & Margot Mitchell, John and Josephine Purkey and Mike & Helen Lugenbeel.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, 11 a.m. at the Duchesne Baptist Church, 592 E. 400 S., where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date in the Strawberry Cemetery. Bart Mills

Barton Arthur Mills, 54, passed away in his sleep February 5, 2001.

Born to Howard and Nona Mills July 27, 1946 in Pocatello, Idaho. Bart's life was not an easy one from the start; now it will be. He was a very compassionate and caring man. The great outdoors, love of animals and watching the night stars or the sunrise hitting Mt. Heyburn were the joys in his life. We will take you to your mountain. We will miss you and your special love.

Rest in peace--you've earned it.

As per his wishes, no public services will be held.

Susanne Gudmundson

LAYTON-- Susanne Gudmundson Hardy, age 53, passed away Saturday October 14, 2000 due to complications from her long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Born September 27, 1947 in Price, Utah, the daughter of Farrell R. and Gertrude W. Gudmundson. Graduated from Bountiful High School in 1965 and from BYU in 1969. Married Kent R. Hardy on June 30, 1969 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Susanne taught Home Economics at Centerville Jr. High for three years.

Survived by her husband, Kent and four children, all of Layton: Tiffany (Rick) Clark, Quintin (Jill) Hardy, Amanda and Lisa Hardy; one grandson and two step-daughters. Also survived by her mother Gertrude and brother Richard (Susan) Gudmundson of Portland, Oregon. Preceded in death by her father, Farrell and sister, Trudy G. Kleineberg.

Funeral services will be held at the Bountiful Lindquist Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., on Thursday, October 19, 2000 at 11 a.m. The viewing will be on Wednesday evening October 18, 2000 from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. before the services on Thursday.  In lieu of flowers a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Susanne's memory could be made.

Mike Leetham

Michael Jay Leetham Sr. (Bones), age 53, passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2000, surrounded by his friends and family, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born on November 11, 1946 in Salt Lake to Jay and Wilma Leetham.

Michael graduated from Bountiful High School and then soon after started working for Union Pacific Railroad, where he worked for the next 30 years. Michael had many joys in his life like fishing, playing pool, and working in his yard. But golf was his passion. Whether playing alone, with friends or in one of his many fierce battles with his son, the golf course is where he loved to be.

Michael is survived by his loving and caring wife Debbie and his children, Michael Jay (Chandra) Leetham, Jr. and Nichole (George) Warden; step-children, Jamie Handley and Richie (Jennifer) Handley; brothers, Pat Leetham and Rick Leetham; and his mother, Wilma Symms. And let's not forget another great joy in his life, his dog, Rio.

Michael's family would also like to thank all the friends and family and the wonderful staff at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center for helping us through this very difficult time.

Larry died May 27, 1999 in Salt Lake City, UT.  He was cremated and his ashes were given to his family.

JoAnne Kreutzer

Our beloved JoAnne Kreutzer Asay, 51, returned to our Father in Heaven on Wednesday, April 21, 1999 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Now that she is free from her cancer-ravaged body, she is able to once again spread her cheer, laughter, smiles, and use her wonderful capacity to love. She will be missed by her parents, husband, children, grandchild, and extended family but will always be remembered for her unique ability to gracefully handle challenges, unselfishly offer her love in behalf of others, and always share a smile and a word of encouragement to her loved ones. She enjoyed establishing and celebrating family traditions and loved to tell a good story. She always remembered her friends as if they were her sisters.

She was born May 29, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Donald G. Kreutzer and Clara Beth Stoddart. She was the third of four children. She was a woman of child-like faith with a tremendous capacity for charity and hope. JoAnne married and was sealed to her sweetheart David J. Asay in the Logan LDS Temple on July 18, 1968. She graduated from Bountiful High School in 1965 and attended Weber State and the University of Utah. "Go Utes!" Her love of people and her wonderful sense of humor forged many life-long friendships with people from all walks of life.

Active in the Church, she served in many capacities, but loved none more than her "Little Angels" in the Primary who prayed for her every day. She was a member of the Farmington 2nd Ward.

JoAnne was more proud of her "Little Chickadees" than anything else. Daughters, Jodi (Don) Parr and Jill Asay, son Martin D. Asay, and the "Screamin Mimi," her wonderful granddaughter, Jordan Parr, survive her. Her parents, husband and brothers Dennis G. (Sally) Kreutzer (Palatine, Illinois), Richard J. (Kathy) Kreutzer (Sandy, Utah) and beloved sister Jane K. (Richard) Hall (Riverdale, Utah), also survive her. She loved her nephews and nieces as if they were her own children.

JoAnne's work was a labor of love for women fighting breast cancer. Employed at Carol's Personal Boutique, she brought great comfort and hope to hundreds of ladies. For several years she was a hostess and tour guide at the Beehive House and loved the friendships she made there and gained a great sense of appreciation for Brigham Young.

"I've had a wonderful life, I've never missed a meal because I was poor. I was never forced to wait in line for food. I've never had to wear anything secondhand, unless I chose to do so. I never wanted in my heart for love and compassion because I was born and then married into the most wonderful circumstances I could have wished for. I am embarrassed at the lack of sacrifices I've had to make. I have always had a warm home and secure bed. I've never wanted for material things and I've never had to go without spiritual blessings either. I've been able to glimpse places in the world that had only existed in my imagination! In fact, the more closely I scrutinize my life, the more I see how wondrous and great it truly has been! I've never lacked for friends, for wonderful children and a loving husband, or for loving relatives. Perhaps most of all, the Gospel prepared me to accept the challenges and to appreciate all of my sweet tender blessings, because I've never lacked faith and always had a simple but sure testimony."

The family wishes to thank Drs. Kent DiFiore and Greg Litton, dear friend and confidante, Carol Lee, Gene Aguilar and the staff at Intermountain Oncology for the wonderful services they performed for JoAnne. Their dedication and commitment to JoAnne was truly special. We are also most grateful to Charyol Wilcox and the Vista Care Hospice staff.

JoAnne had but one simple request that she asked from her family and friends. "Remember me with joy and happiness If you can only remember me with tears and sorrow, I'd rather you not remember me at all."

Johnny Salt

John William Salt, 52, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 28, 1999 from complications of a heart attack, surrounded by those he loved.

Born November 8, 1946 in Salt Lake City, son of William F. and Della Jo Hickman Salt. John grew up in Bountiful and graduated from Skyline High. Received his education from Utah Technical College. Currently owned and operated Salt Ornamental Iron.John was married to his best friend and sweetheart, Rosanne Tingey on June 6, 1997. Sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple June 6, 1998. He was an active member of the LDS Church, Bountiful 18th Ward where he was serving in the Young Men's Presidency.

John loved the outdoors, especially hunting. He had a great love for his cabin and the surroundings in Fremont, Utah where he spent a good part of his life from his youth on. John touched many lives with his gentle ways and his unconditional love for others. A good deal of his compassionate service to others was done quietly and behind the scenes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosanne, of Bountiful; his parents; daughter, Tammy Salt, son, John William Salt, Jr. (Lisa); granddaughter, Abbie Salt; step-children, Amy (Rex) Christensen, Cory Schlutz, Clint Player (Cassie), Chad Player (Bobby Jo); grandchildren, McKenzie, Hailee and Jordan Player; sisters, Laurelee (Ronald) Remigi, Cindy (Richard) Deverall, Jill (Kurt) Tannbaum, Emma Jo (Ed) Cadwalader, Valerie (David) Phippen; brother, Timothy (Traci) Salt. Preceded in death by brother, William Francis Salt III.

John Wernli

BOUNTIFUL--Surrounded by his loving family, John Henry Wernli was called home by his Heavenly Father on December 21, 1998 in Salt Lake City following a short illness.

He was born December 1, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Henry and Billie Jean Jackson Wernli. He married his high school sweetheart Kristie Mae Olson, on August 10, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and their family was sealed for time and all eternity on November 7, 1987 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

John was a great outdoors enthusiast: shooting his guns and teaching others from his vast gun knowledge, hunting, camping, fishing, riding four wheelers, anything that involved being outside and having fun with his family. John was a great contributor to scouting and was actively involved for over 10 years in all levels of the program. He was an active member of the LDS church, recently having been called as financial clerk in the Young Adult ward, a High Priest Group member, a faithful home teacher and a primary teacher.

A man for all seasons and a great friend to all who knew him, to his many friends and family members his wry sense of humor will be sorely missed. Beneath his gruff exterior held a gentle, loving heart who held his wife and children as number one in his life. He will be affectionately remembered by his family for his work ethic, keen mechanical abilities, integrity, generosity and great strength.

John was a journeyman Pipefitter and Steamfitter, a member of Local 19 for 30 years, he was employed at and co-owner of Wernli Refrigeration for 35 years. He served in the Army 419th Transportation Division reserves for six years.

He is survived by his wife, Kristie, son Aaron John and daughter Jonell Page (Michael) and grandson Evan Michael Page; mother Billie Jean Wernli; brothers: Mike, David, Bill, Rob and Ron; sisters: Pat Christensen and Shawn Smith and all their spouses, many loving in-laws and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father John and nephew Curtis Wernli.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon, Monday, December 28, 1998 at the Bountiful 30th Ward Chapel, 2200 South 650 East, Bountiful, Utah. Jeanne Flandro

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Jeanne Leigh Flandro Smith, age 50, passed away in her home in Bountiful with her family at her side on Tuesday, February 17, 1998 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born April 15, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Albert O. and Abby Barber Flandro. Married Steven Harley Smith for time and all eternity on March 12, 1970 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a devoted wife and dedicated mother who put husband and children above all else.

She was our best friend, confidant, and teacher. She was an active member of the LDS Church and instilled many quality traits in her children. Jeanne graduated from the University of Utah. She taught English in the Davis County School District and was teaching at Centerville Junior High School.

Survived by her devoted husband, Steven; loving children: six daughters and two sons, Ricci Nightingale (Jim), Stacy Coles (Eric), Shelby, Stephanie, Erin, and the triplets, Christopher, Amy and Daniel; sister Shelley Daniels (Jack) of Jefferson, Oregon; brothers Dr. Gary Flandro (Lyn) of Tullahoma, Tennessee and Neil Flandro (Carrie) of Centerville; and Maxine Smith of St. George who was like a second mother to her. Jeanne was preceded in death by her mother, father, and nephew, Lee.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Val Verda Second Ward Chapel, 2600 South 500 West in Bountiful. Donna Carrico

Donna Neslen Young, was born on April 6, 1947 to Vernon Vivian and Mabel Alice Cook Carrico in Sedalia, Pettis, Missouri.

She was a 1965 graduate of Bountiful High School, Bountiful, UT.  Donna married Richard Allen Neslen on March 23, 1970 in Elko, NV.  She later married James Leroy Young, on April 18, 1992 in Davis County, UT.

Donna passed away suddenly from a brain tumor on Oct. 4, 1997 in Salt Lake City, UT.  She is survived by her husband and her children: Kimberly (Robert) Meyer, Cory, Chris and Cynthia Neslen; sister, Peggy L. Carrico and grandchildren, Skyler and Chandler Meyer.

Donna loved her family and was loved in turn by them.  She was a generous woman who never met a stranger.  She has gone to join her mother, father and brother, Randy Ray Carrico.  We will always love and miss her.

Kathy Mathias

Kathleen Ann Mathias Dastrup was born on March 2, 1947 in Salina, UT to Melvin Gerald and Julia Ardella Hendrickson Mathias. 

Kathy married Orlo Liggett Dastrup in Elko Nevada on August 5, 1980.  She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister and friend.  Kathy had two daughters: Kassandra Lee and Robin Karrie Dastrup. 

Kathy died on September 9, 1997 at the age of 50 in Salt Lake City, UT.  She is buried in the Bountiful Memorial Park, Bountiful, UT.

Brad Odekirk

William Bradford Odekirk was born Mar. 4, 1947, in Salt Lake City, UT to Ernest William Odekirk, Jr. and Rose Regina Strapek Odekirk.  He was a graduate of Bountiful High School, class of 1965.  Brad entered the US Army in 1965 and received basic training at Ft. Ord, CA after which he was stationed at Ft. Benning, GA.  By March 1966, he was among 1,700 101st Airborne Division paratroopers from Ft. Campbell, KY participating in a four-day amphibious-airborne maneuver ending April 1 at Camp Lejeune.  His unit was Company A, 1st Battalion of the division’s 501st Infantry.  Brad arrived in Vietnam on June 25, 1966 with the 4th Battalion, 503rd Airborne Infantry.  The battalion became part of the separate 173rd Airborne Brigade.  His unit stressed the use of helicopters in day and night movements.  Brad was discharged from the Army on July 22, 1968.

He married Teresa Elma Smith on September 30, 1968 in Davis County, UT and they had one child.

Brad lived in Salt Lake City until his passing July 2, 1994 in Bountiful, UT and was preceded in death by his father.  His mother passed two days later on July 4, 1994.  He is buried in Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Bountiful, UT.
