In Memoriam

The purpose of this blog is to honor our former classmates who attended Bountiful High School as members of the class of 1965 and are now deceased. These souls, who have gone before us, were our friends, our associates, and an important part of our own history. They deserve to be remembered. We were able to research a school photo for most of these former classmates. We have also located obituaries for many of them, and have included statistical information regarding the death of those for whom an obituary was not found.

Our profound thanks to all of our friends who have sent information to assist us in preparing this labor of love. Researched and compiled by Yvonne Rasmussen and Diane Day.

**Due to Blogger limitations, dates for those who passed before 1970 will display inaccurately in the chronological list. You'll find those classmates' obituaries listed under 1970.

Mike Rank

John Michael Ranck "Mike" 8/19/1947 -  10/21/2008 Our hero, our anchor, loving husband, soldier, my dad, grandpa "Cramps", brother, "Uncle Mike" and friend. A true cowboy. Our dad was the kindest, most caring, unselfish person anyone could know. He was an honest and hard working man who set a wonderful example for all who knew him. Dad was a man of few words. He had a huge heart and yet the toughest cowboy around.

He loved the Ranch as much as life itself and it was hard for him to leave Wyoming last week knowing he would not return. He was elk hunting last Wednesday and still very much calling the shots and leading the drive. He loved to hunt on the Ranch. He was an awesome two-step dancin' machine and he and mom never missed a beat on the dance floor! He especially loved dancing with mom to Johnny's music in the bowery. He was also one of Santa's helpers delivering fresh cut Christmas trees every year right after Thanksgiving.

Dad was truly "one of the good ones" and we cannot begin to express our thoughts, our love and how truly broken hearted we are without him. We are only comforted knowing he is free from a body filled with cancer and suffers no more fighting a painful battle that could not be won. Dad wanted pity from no one and truly did "take it like a man".

He will be missed and forever loved by Mom, Dexter, Jayme, Mandy and Johnny; along with Derek, Tad, Mykah, Averie, Spencer, Grace, Bo, Reggie, Miles, Ellie, Sally and "Smay". Trigger his horse and Red dog. He is now reunited with his daughter, Sharlee and his loved ones who have preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Fri., October 24, 2008 at the Bountiful Stone Creek LDS Chapel, 1475 N. 300 W. Friends and family may call Thurs. evening from 7-9 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Fri. morning 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
