In Memoriam

The purpose of this blog is to honor our former classmates who attended Bountiful High School as members of the class of 1965 and are now deceased. These souls, who have gone before us, were our friends, our associates, and an important part of our own history. They deserve to be remembered. We were able to research a school photo for most of these former classmates. We have also located obituaries for many of them, and have included statistical information regarding the death of those for whom an obituary was not found.

Our profound thanks to all of our friends who have sent information to assist us in preparing this labor of love. Researched and compiled by Yvonne Rasmussen and Diane Day.

**Due to Blogger limitations, dates for those who passed before 1970 will display inaccurately in the chronological list. You'll find those classmates' obituaries listed under 1970.

Juergen Mueller

Juergen Klaus Mueller passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2024. Born November 4, 1945, in Mannheim, Germany to Karl-Heinz Mueller and Erna Ericka Ihrig. Born prematurely, weighing just 4 pounds, his mother struggled to keep him alive and fed in a war-torn city when everything was in short supply. They had no bread, no milk, no baby bottles, no diapers, no heat and not even wood for a fire. As everyone began rebuilding the cities, Juergen worked hard even as a child, and developed a fierce work ethic that continued throughout his life.

At age 12, he journeyed with his mother to begin a new life in America. Eventually, he attended Salt Lake Trade Technical Institute (SLTTI) and began his career as a tool and die machinist. He worked at Eimco for many years, and then started his own shop, Wasatch Tool & Die, which he grew into a thriving enterprise.

Juergen met the love of his life Julia Lynne Forsberg and they were married on November 20, 1964. They moved into a new home in Woods Cross, Utah and there he built his family and legacy for over 50 years.  After the passing of Julia, he married Becky Schooley on July 7, 2022.

A dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Juergen served in many callings, including branch president, overseeing and serving the needs of an entire congregation. He loved attending and working in the Bountiful, Utah temple.

An avid adventurer, Juergen enjoyed skiing, golf, racquetball, squash, fishing, hunting and boating. He had a heart of service and served countless people throughout his years.

Juergen was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Lynne (Forsberg) Mueller and father, Karl-Heinz Mueller. His surviving family includes: his mother, Erna (Ihrig) Vogel; brother, Mike Vogel; son, John Mueller; daughters, Heidi Rosenberg and Megan Muhlestein; 9 grandchildren, and wife Becky.

There will be a memorial service on Friday, May 17th at the West Bountiful 6th Ward at 1750 N. 900 W. in West Bountiful, UT. There will be a public viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 am, and funeral services begin at 11:00.

Services will be streamed live on Russon Mortuary Live Facebook page and this obituary page.
