In Memoriam

The purpose of this blog is to honor our former classmates who attended Bountiful High School as members of the class of 1965 and are now deceased. These souls, who have gone before us, were our friends, our associates, and an important part of our own history. They deserve to be remembered. We were able to research a school photo for most of these former classmates. We have also located obituaries for many of them, and have included statistical information regarding the death of those for whom an obituary was not found. 

Our profound thanks to all of our friends who have sent information to assist us in preparing this labor of love. Researched and compiled by Yvonne Rasmussen and Diane Day.

LeRoy Fisher



LeRoy W. Fisher "Elroy" was born March 2, 1947 in Birmingham, England, and died on Feb. 12, 2008.  He was the son of Arthur John and Faith Dunn Fisher. In his younger years, he was a professional musician who toured extensively with several bands. He loved motorcycles and received many trophies for racing motocross. He loved music, camping and riding four-wheelers. His greatest joy in life came from being with family and friends and singing around the campfire.  Elroy was always willing to give of himself, even at his own expense. He was a very kind, selfless individual. He proudly served his country in the US Army Medical Unit where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Survived by daughters: Carrie, Jenny and Reyna; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters: John (Aloni) Fisher, Norman (Daralyn) Fisher, Ruth Christensen, Sue Davis and Lura (David) Hutchison. Preceded in death by parents; sisters: Trish Valcare and Jeannie Downey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 12:00 noon at Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel, 17111 S. Redwood Road where a visitation will be held Friday, 10:30-12:00 noon. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in LeRoy's name to: Veterans Medical Center, VAMC Volunteer Services, 500 Foothill Drive, SLC, Utah 84148.  Published in Salt Lake Tribune on Feb. 14, 2008.
