Born Feb. 8, 1947, in Price, Utah, to Alice Pressas and Gus Dean Doulgerakis, he graduated from Bountiful High School in 1965 and joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Anchorage, and lived the rest of his life here. He married his high school sweetheart, Karon Clayton, on Dec. 4, 1966, in Anchorage. She preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 2004.
His family wrote: "He founded many local businesses including Magic and Advertising, All Night TV, Video to Go, Beta Only, Comic Book Cosmos, Alaska All Star Wrestling -- he was the first to bring professional wrestlers to Alaska at the Sullivan Arena. He also helped design Iditarod buttons. Chuck was also the owner of Lots'a Neat Stuff, which brought a smile to whoever walked through the doors. "Chuck was a business owner, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to all -- his laughter and sense of humor will be greatly missed. He was a man who played many roles, not only in business, but in the lives he touched." His family added that he was much loved.
Mr. Doulgerakis is survived by his children and their spouses, Deana Doulgerakis of Anchorage, Victoria and Mark Hedgecock Seattle, Gus Brant Doulgerakis of Anchorage, Journie and Sandor Dasilva of Palmer; grandchildren, Makaila, Zoltan and Kadin; sister, Ava Carroll-Brown and husband Nicholas of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; brother, Jim Salzetti and wife Becky of Rolling Hills, Calif.
